The IC line of colors are Oil-Soluble or Solvent Dyes.

Oil-Soluble Dye, also known as Solvent Dye, is a colorant that is dissolved by organic solutions. In this case oil or oil products. Since it’s hydrocarbon based, it becomes a part of the oil. Once it has been dissolved it will not separate from the oil.

It does not change the oil, or affect it’s ability to protect your engine, it just colors it. There are several famous oil products that are recognized by their color. They didn’t come out of the ground that way. Oil soluble dyes were used to make them red or purple or green.

Oil-soluble dyes are used as coloring agents by industry, oil companies, automotive, products like antifreeze, oil, transmission fluid, fuel and grease to name just a few.
